My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Mason is a 3-year-old neutered male black lab. Mason weighs 65 pounds and is up to date on shots. This dog is approved for homes with children ages 10 and up.

Mason is from a rural area and has not been exposed to traffic, noise, or groups of people. If dogs are overwhelmed by their environment, they can exhibit behaviors like excessive barking. For now, to avoid this, we are limiting placement to standalone, single family homes in a suburban neighborhood or rural area. After Mason has been in a foster home for at least a week or two, we will evaluate if placement can be expanded to include a more urban environment and will send out an update.

Sep 6, 2017: Mason was returned because he has too much energy for the resident senior dog and cat.

Sep 6, 2017: Mason is a very sweet, smart and obedient three year old, but he doesn't tire all that easily, so he is a bit too strong and energetic for the senior lab and cat. He knows his basic commands and picks up new things very quickly. He has had play dates with a multiple dog household and was just fine.

Jul 30, 2017: Mason is very sweet, and he loves tennis balls. He is good with other dogs. He was tested on lead with other dogs at the shelter and was fine. He met a black and tan female dog and really liked her. He also met a more energetic male dog and was fine. He just didn't want the energetic male dog jumping around in his face so didn't play with him. Mason was also in the cat room at the shelter. A cat stuck her paw out and swatted at him. Mason jumped back and sunk to the floor, because it scared him. So maybe no cats for this boy. We don't have any kid history for Mason, so he's approved for kids ages 10 and up.

From transporter: Mason is a great dog. He's very friendly, easy-going, and handsome. He was also wiggly, so it was hard to get pics of him.

Mason is a 3 year old black neutered male. He is up-to-date on vaccines and weighs 65 pounds. Mason will need a Leptospirosis booster between 8/21/17 and 8/28/17. Mason was neutered on 7/31/17, so he'll need to take it easy until about 8/10/17
