Meet Jagger! Besides being handsome, he is a total sweetheart. This friendly, laid-back boy was born around 08/01/2015. Right now he’s on the skinny side; we think he’ll fill out to around 90 pounds.
He was pretty shy when he first came from the shelter, until he trained his foster mom that she had to give him cheese biscuits before he would come into the house. After he learned she was trainable, he adapted quickly to his new surroundings. He returns the favor by obeying her requests to “sit, off, out, all done” and more.
Jagger is a big love muffin. He spends most of his day sleeping in the living room, and gets up occasionally to find his foster mom in other parts of the house.
He loves to play with the other big dogs in his foster home. He likes stealing the ball from the German Shepherd when playing fetch. He follows the other dogs out to the back yard but he prefers to come right back inside. He likes sleeping on his dog bed near his doggy friends at night. He would probably like to have a canine companion in his forever home.
He gets excited about meal time and about coming back in the house from outdoors; otherwise he is just mellow.
Lovely Jagger is leash trained and house trained. He has no need for a crate, because he can be trusted with free roam of the house at all times. He stays in the house with two other dogs while his foster mom is at work, and she comes home at lunch to let them out. He has stayed inside for up to 6 hours without any problems.
He doesn’t like leaving the house to get in the car, but his foster mom thinks it’s because he may be afraid he won’t be able to come home.
Jagger is not much of a barker. We don’t know yet how he does around children or cats.
All of our dogs require secure and VISIBLE fencing.

1. Adopt! If this Gentle Giant looks like the one for you, fill out an adoption application today!
2. Foster! This is a temporary commitment that gives all dogs in need the assured time to find the loving home they deserve. Your benevolent decision to foster unquestionably determines whether a loving dog gets to live or die.
3. Donate! Safeguarding these Gentle Giants result in expenses that are in upwards $8/day. If veterinary care is needed, the costs exponentiate to $1,000+ for a single dog. Every penny you donate makes an impact when it comes to vet bills! If you were to make a one-time donation of just $25, you would be adding 3 more valuable days to the life of every rescued dog and provide the chance to find the home they have been waiting for their entire life.
As always, all donations are gratefully accepted.
Every dog adopted thru the GPRS program is up to date on all vaccinations, spayed/neutered and on heartworm preventative.
