Meet Starsky! Starsky and his brother Hutch were found as strays at the tender age of only 6 months old. These boys appeared to have been on their own quite awhile, but with love, care, proper nutrition, and good vetting, these boys both have a clean bill of health!
Starsky is about 8 months old now, and has been living with many other dogs. He is not bonded to his brother, and in fact, they choose to play with other dogs if given the opportunity, so we plan to adopt them out separately.
Starsky is about 45-50 lbs, and should not get a whole lot bigger. He is a very fast learner, eager to please, and has undergone some basic training and has made huge strides! Starsky has typical lab puppy energy and will gnaw and chew on most any kind of toy, and will make short work of the stuffed ones. He does tend to play rough with other dogs, so if he is in a home with another dog, he should be in a home with an active, playful dog that enjoys wrestling and rough-housing. Starsky's foster mom has this to say about him: "He is very sweet and snuggly. Puts his paws on your chest and stretches when he wants hugs. Climbs his top half of his body on your lap for more hugs. Holds your hand with his mouth if you ignore his request for hugs. He will lay on the couch with you and just hang out. Hes not really destructive anymore. If you give him toys he can gnaw on he leaves everything else alone. He woos like a hound dog when he wants something and will alert you when he wants to go out. Sleeps well in the crate. He will steal any and all food he can get to (most dogs that were stray do this until they learn their food source never goes away). Good with the cats. Good with the kids. Knows "get down" when he has his feet on something like the gate. Currently working on sit, stay, leave it, and dead (show belly). Hiiiiighhhhh energy. Wants to play all day."
Starsky has been fully vaccinated, neutered, microchipped, deflea-ed, de-wormed, and is on heartworm prevention. He is fully ready to find his forever home!
