PAWS Humane Society was founded by dedicated animal rescue volunteers in order to be able to provide a loving environment and all of the proper veterinary care for the highly adoptable animals in local shelters that otherwise would not have received the opportunity to continue their lives. We feel that education and providing information about resources available to pet owners will help prevent the overpopulation that the shelters of Bell County and surrounding areas experience. We are a non-profit group who is completely volunteer and works off donations provided by the public. We are not government funded. We have no physical shelter location and all of our animals are placed in fosters until their time for permanent adoption comes.
Come Meet Our Pets...
We have adoption events held in various locations throughout the Killeen area. Please visit www.pawshumanesociety.org/events to learn where we will be hosting events!
Our Adoption Process...
If you are interested in any of our dogs please visit www.pawshumanesociety.org and fill out the adoption application. Once we have received the application we will contact you to set up a time to meet the animal you are interested in or contact you for additional information. We are a completely volunteer based organization so response times vary and may be a few days before we are able to respond. Not every application for every animal is found suitable for that specific animal however we do our best to match you with a compatible animal.
Humane America Animal Foundation, dba Adopt-a-Pet.com, is a non-profit, tax-deductible 501(c)(3) adoption advertising charity. Our mission (and passion) is to help

You'll receive a copy, too, at
to help you keep track of which pets you've inquired about, and which shelters and rescues you've emailed.
NOTE: Some shelters have physical locations you can visit; some of these shelters may only have pets for a limited time, so please do not wait for a reply—just go visit the shelter!
Other organizations are rescue groups run by busy volunteers who may take a while to reply. You can find information about the shelter or rescue group caring for this pet, and their adoption procedures,
on the pet's details page on Adopt-a-Pet.com.
