Meet Copper, a sweet affection pup who loves to run and play. Copper is believed to be an Italian Greyhound, Coon Hound, and Lab mix. He is just over a year old and still has the puppy energy, but with no messes in the house.

He is a goofball dog who needs another canine companion and also a strong leader in his pack. He gets over stimulated easily and needs a calming human who will be able to redirect him. He loves his family and is very loyal. He is very smart and knows basic obedience commands.

He would make an excellent running, walking, hiking partner, but is not the type of dog who will thrive in a sedentary lifestyle. Copper needs a fenced yard as well.

A condition of Copper's adoption will to be enrolled in training class, which the rescue will pay for.. This is so he will not fail at his next home as well as another dog in the house.

He is not good around children, as they are too unpredictable.

He is being fostered in Olympia, WA and his adoption fee is $275.00.

About Misunderstood Mutts Rescue - Greater Portland Area

About Our Rescue Group...

Misunderstood Mutts Rescue (MMR) is a volunteer based organization serving the greater Yakima Valley, greater Portland area, and Puget Sound region. We are dedicated to saving abandoned, free, and throwaway dogs in areas where abuse, neglect, and cruelty are prevalent.

MMR was formed in October 2016 with the goal of rescuing dogs from our own backyards. Our ultimate goal is be a catalyst for a world free of homeless, neglected, abused, and abandoned animals. The harder MMR works to achieve this goal, the greater the reduction in euthanization rates throughout Oregon and Washington State.

Our Adoption Process...

We strive to find the perfect home for our dogs and so we require an application, home check, references, and a meet & greet. We also provide a two-week trial period for our dogs, to make sure it is just the right fit.

Most of our dogs range from $250.00 to $400.00 and this includes spay/neuter, vaccinations, & transportation. The majority of our dogs come from neglectful and/or abusive situations and require a decompression period between foster and adoption. A representative from MMR will be with you every step of the way to ensure the best transition possible for not only our dogs, but for you.
