A Little Bit About Me

Interested in having some fun? Well, step right up and meet Bodhi. He wants to find an active, dog savvy person who understands the needs of a working Australian Cattledog. They are bright and loyal companions, if you are willing to put in the time.

To be clear, it is not in his DNA to sit around on the couch all day. He was born with a natural gift, so use these skills of intelligence and obedience to his advantage. Bodhi needs an active daily routine that includes mental and physical exercise. The light switch goes on when he sees a ball. He adores the outdoors and things that move, a typical behavior for a herding dog. To start, enroll him into a series of training, agility or scenting classes to keep him motivated. He appears to be a purebred, so get out the 'chuck-it' and put on your running shoes because this boy has huge potential.

About North Bay Canine Rescue & Placement

About Our Rescue Group...

We are a group of people dedicated to rescuing dogs from crisis situations, some of which include euthanasia by animal shelters, neglect and other forms of abuse, or "free to a good home" ads, which result in dogs being bounced from one home to another, or being acquired by animal brokers ("bunchers") and sold to research laboratories where they are used for testing then discarded ("cruelty industries").

NBCR&P works primarily with 5 herding breeds, and herding breed mixes. On occasion, NBCR&P also rescues and places other breeds. We foster our dogs in a home environment, rather than a kennel, if at all possible. We take pride in our promise that at any time and for any reason in the dog's life, if the need arises, he or she has a safe place with us ("return to rescue" policy).
