Pippa is a chiweenie. She weighs 13 lbs. Pippa's birthday is estimated to be 7/2/15 so she is full grown. She is house trained and can be trusted to run the house freely. Pippa had the misfortune of recently loosing her human daddy who passed away. She needs a new family that will love and take care of her. She loves to cuddle and sit in your lap. She is dog and cat friendly. Pippa walks well on a leash and enjoys going for early morning and evening walks. Pippa would do best in a home with considerate children 10 years or older. She will need a family that is willing to be patient and will give her time to adjust to a new home. Pippa is very social once she has warmed. If your family is looking for a sweet little girl you might want to consider setting up a meet and greet to see if Pippa is a good fit for your family.

Adopter for Pippa must reside in the immediate Houston/Galveston area and be at least 25 years old.   A home visit may be required prior to this dog going to any home.

Adoption fee for Pippa is $175.

About Second Chance Pets

About Our Rescue Group...

Second Chance Pets (SCP) is a nonprofit 501(c)3 animal welfare organization dedicated to providing unwanted pets a second chance through foster care and pet adoption programs, educating the public about proper care for their own animals and about animal welfare issues, and working with the public, other rescue groups, and public officials to help resolve the problem of animal overpopulation.

Come Meet Our Pets...

SCP does not have a shelter or an office location. The rescued pets, volunteers, fosters, and adopters who comprise SCP come from all over the Galveston Bay area (mainly north Galveston and south Harris counties). Our adoptable animals are fostered and loved in volunteer homes until a permanent home is found.

SCP has cats and dogs available for adoption every Saturday from 11-4 at the Petco Clear Lake store (2410 Bay Area Boulevard, Houston, TX 77058 - corner of Bay Area and Space Center). A few cats may also be seen during the week in the condos at this Petco location

Our Adoption Process...

Potential adopters must complete applications so that volunteers can help adopters identify cats and dogs that will fit best in their homes. SCP volunteers review the applications and discuss pet care responsibilities with potential adopters. The adoption fee typically starts at $95 for cats and $175 for dogs.

SCP tries to ensure that all pets are healthy at the time of adoption. All are examined by veterinarians when they enter the program. All are vaccinated, spayed, neutered, de-wormed, tested/treated for parasites and disease (such as heartworms, fleas, feline leukemia and FIV) as needed. Cats are vaccinated for FVRCP and FeLV. Dogs are vaccinated for DHLPP and Corona virus. Animals are kept in foster homes when available to minimize exposure to disease and to help them be well-adjusted. It is the policy of SCP that no cat or dog may be sent to a permanent home before it is fully vetted, including spay or neuter. All of our rescued animals are microchipped.
