My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Gracie is a Catahoula mix estimated at about 2 years old and currently around 48 lbs. She needs to gain a little weight, maybe 5-10 lbs, so ideally she'd be around a 60 lb as an ideal weight. She is a mellow girl, usually pretty quiet, though she will give a few barks at the dogs across the street on occasion. She's very responsive to verbal corrections, though she does not appear to know any commands. She also does not recognize her name as it has only been hers for a few days. I am working with her on this, and it should be a fairly quick process as she is a pretty smart girl. She's very alert to what's going on around her, she loves to watch kids and other animals. She does have a bit of a goofy side and loves scratches and belly rubs. Belly rubs are an activity best suited for older kids and adults as she likes to roll around and push on you and it can be a lot of dog to handle. She does like to mouth on your arm during play but there is no pressure at all behind it. She appears to be housebroken - she usually goes to the front door when she needs to go outside and I suspect she may be used to going potty while on a leash because she will usually not go unless you are standing in the yard with her. She's been very gentle with my girls (ages 2, 4 & 6), in fact, she usually ignores them unless they are petting her. She also gets along well with other dogs, she will stand up for herself if one is too pushy with her, but otherwise she generally ignores them. She just recently weaned 2 puppies, so she is not spayed at this time and will require a waiting period before she is eligible for this procedure.
