Memphis is a 1 year old Aussie with a half tail, the long natural bobbed tail that sometimes occurs in Aussies, and weighs only 35 pounds. Memphis is just slightly larger than a Mini Aussie, but smaller than a regular Australian Shepherd. He’s a perfect in-between size, and just the sweetest, cutest little guy with beautiful markings, and that little flag of a tail is adorable! Memphis is very friendly and outgoing, and loves to run and play with other dogs of both sexes. He is very people-oriented, although a little shy at times. We think Memphis was an outdoor dog in the past, but those days are over and this boy loves the indoor life and is quickly learning to sleep in a crate at night, which is part of his housetraining routine. In the morning, he very enthusiastically runs outside to do his potty business and to play with the other dogs. Memphis LOVES to run, and is lightning fast! His favorite activity is playing chase with the other dogs, and we think he would love a human to play fetch with a ball with him equally as well. Once he has had an opportunity to run his energy off, he will plop down in the floor indoors and relax. We have not seen Memphis interact with cats and his playful energy may be more than a cat would appreciate, but we think he would be great in a home with children as he is very affectionate and tolerant. Mainly, Memphis wants someone who can give him the love and attention that he’s always dreamed of, and in return he will reward you with kisses and lots of laughs at his cute antics. Memphis has been fully vaccinated, tested negative for heartworms, is microchipped, and is current on heartworm and flea prevention. He will be neutered before adoption, and is available for a $350 adoption donation. If you are interested in sharing your life with this adorable little guy, please download an adoption application from our website,, and submit it to the email address on the form.

About Twisted Branch Aussie Ranch

About Our Rescue Group...

With few exceptions, we do not use foster homes. Most of the dogs in our rescue live here in the home with us as members of our family, and they sleep and eat indoors and have free run of the yard during the day. We feel that this is the best way for us to prepare these dogs for adoption and life with their new families, to teach them house manners and basic obedience training, and to get to fully know them so that we can make a proper placement.

Our Adoption Process...

Please keep in mind that we are not a shelter where you can visit dogs and go home with one that day. We are a home and family first, and a rescue secondly, and in order to maintain a family environment for the dogs, we are only able to offer visits after we have an approved adoption application from you. We put a great deal of effort into every dog that we rescue, sometimes driving several hours to rescue them and then spending a huge amount of time caring for them physically, training them, socializing them with other dogs, and teaching them house manners. We bring these dogs into our home, into our family, and in some cases, into our bed to sleep with us. They are our family, and we care deeply about every dog that comes into our rescue. For this reason, we are very particular about where our dogs go. We do not adopt on a first-come, first-serve basis, but instead adopt to the family who is the best match for that particular dog.

Adoption Requirements and Procedure:

*We must have a reviewed, approved Adoption Application from you before scheduling a visit with the dogs.
*You must have a securely fenced yard for your adopted dog. We do not adopt dogs to homes where they would be allowed to roam free on acreage. This is for the safety of the dog.
*Due to health concerns for young puppies, puppies under the age of 4 months can’t be adopted to apartment homes where they would be exposed to other dogs. Puppies underage for spay/neuter are only available for local adoption.
*You must be able to travel here to meet and adopt your new dog. We do not ship dogs, and we want the opportunity to meet you in person before trusting you with one of our babies.
*You must be patient with us! Once we receive your application, we will need time to review it, check references, and conduct a home visit to ensure that you can provide a safe environment for your new dog. The whole process could take as much as two weeks. Please keep this in mind when you apply, as you will not be able to apply and adopt the same day.
