About Morpheus
Morpheus was transferred to us after he was surrendered to a shelter by his owners. He needed a knee repair which has been done. He will be going to the vet soon to see if the other knee needs repaired or if he is cleared for adoption.
A relaxed dog, he likes outdoor time, but he will not be an overly active dog because of his age and knee recovery. He likes to get is feet wet in the pond and to sit on the porch and watch farm life. He barks, but only like a normal schnauzer.
Morpheus is the elder statesman of the pack. He is above the fray, but willing to play. He plays tug-of-war and rough-housing/wrestling with people. He may have some latent herding ability, as he has helped corral some escaped chickens without attacking them. He is affectionate and will rub his head against you for attention. His charming underbite gives him a bit of a wolfish look, which belies his good nature. He loves to drink water, but his intake must be moderated before bed time, lest unfortunate accidents occur in his crate.
Because of his knee issues, he can not do stairs and slick surfaces, such as wood floors.
