About Boxer/Schnauzer Rescue of the Ozarks

About Our Rescue Group...

Boxer/Schnauzer rescue of the Ozarks is a state licensed rescue that is 501(3)c and state nonprofit group made up entirely of volunteers. We all work full time jobs and do this in addition to these jobs for the love of the breeds. BSRO pays for all medical expenses and all we ask the foster home to do is provide love and food. We are funded strictly on donations. Being non-profit, these donations are tax deductible. Foster homes treat the foster dog as one of their own so that the dog learns how to be with a family and so that we know the dogs personality extremely well. We set a high standard for ourselves and expect the same from our adopters. Foster homes and knowledgeable on proper nutrition, behavior, and medical issues so that they can provide the best recovery and rehab for there foster dog possible. Along with the best medical care, we feed one of the best foods, Fromm pet foods, to our personal and foster dogs. If you would like more information as to why we choose this food, free free to email us.

Come Meet Our Pets...

We have several businesses that support our organization. First and foremost is our vet, Springfield Veterinary Center. They are extremely knowledgeable on boxer and schnauzer issues after numerous years of dealing with our rescue dogs.

As we have no building to visit, we host meet-n-greets every month. The first Saturday of the month we are at PetCo in Branson, MO, from 11-3 and the third Saturday of the month we are at All Pet Supply, south location, at the intersection of Republic Road and Kansas Expressway in Springfield, MO, from 10-2.

We are at other locations upon request and at community events but the above are our regularly scheduled events.

Please note, NO ON SIGHT ADOPTIONS ARE ALLOWED!!! you MUST have a home visit first.

Our Adoption Process...

The first step is to fill out an application. For a boxer you need to visit and for schnauzers you need to email us. Once the application is received, we will contact you to arrange a home visit. No visits, unless at a meet-n-greet, will be allowed with a dog until the application is received and a home visit is done. This is to protect the privacy and security of our foster homes. During the home visit, we will sit down with you and the members of your family to see what you are looking for and wanting in a dog so we can best match you with one in our program that fits this criteria. After this is done, arrangements will be made with you and the foster home to visit the dog in the foster home so you can see the true comfortable personality of the dog.

We can only do placements where we have volunteers to do home visits. We cover most of Missouri, Kansas, Nebraska and Iowa.
