My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi Everyone,
I'm Frankie 4235. The first step in adopting me is to visit http://www.goboxerrescue.com and fill out the application to adopt.

I am a handsome, sweet 3 year old male neutered white boxer. I had an unfortunate accident in April when another dog attacked me and blinded me. My left eye was punctured and my right eye has a detached retina. I recently had surgery to remove my left eye and suture my eyelids closed. Even though I have been through so much change in the last few months, I have remained a very good, sweet boy through it all!

I love everyone I have met so far, and get even more excited when I hear a male voice. My foster mom trims my nails, cleans my ears, had to clean my eye twice a day, gave me a bath, and she tells me I am a good boy for all of it. Elevated feeders make it easier for me to eat and drink. I am housebroken, crate trained, and haven’t chewed up anything except one toy. I would like a big comfy bed to lay on. I like to chew on rawhides and am starting to play with some toys. Once in a while, I will try to play with my fur foster brother and sister. It's still a little awkward for me.

My foster family takes me on walks, and I am starting to relax more. Loud noises still make me nervous and that’s when I get a little strong. They will use a special collar on me just for that reason because I am 75 lbs and strong! Once I relax, they say I walk very well. They are also teaching me “Up”, “Step”, “Watch”, and “Wait”. I am catching on very well to all of them. I am learning to navigate around their main floor, and am doing well. They put different rugs in different areas to help me navigate around. I figured out the one rug tells me there is a step there!

I am also learning what “Leave it” means because I am really interested in the cats. My foster mom was proud of me today because I actually left the cat alone when she told me. They think I would be better in a house without cats because I spend a lot of time looking for them, but maybe with time I won’t be so interested.

I am a sweet boy and would make a great companion!!

Again, if you are interested in adding me to your family please take the first step towards adopting by completing the Application to Adopt, and mention me, Sweet Lucy 4217, that you will find at http://www.goboxerrescue.com
