The Palm Valley Animal Center is a private, nonprofit, open-door animal welfare agency serving the needs of animals, pet owners and the community at large.
The Palm Valley Animal Center is more than a shelter, it’s a compassionate place dedicated to the caring of homeless animals and to enhancing the relationship between animals and people through adoptions, education and community outreach.
As the only Animal Center serving Hidalgo County, more than 40,000 animals enter The Palm Valley Animal Center’s doors annually.
In 2000, the Weslaco Humane Society closed and Palm Valley Animal Center became the only animal care facility for the entire Hidalgo County area! On average, the Palm Valley Animal Center receives 119 animals per day!
