Lady’s story is one that we see far too often in the desert. She was found out roaming around trying to find food with cactus needles stuck in her face. Skinny, tired and very fearful, she was one scared little
Lady. From there, she was brought to the county shelter and was adopted out to a family, but didn’t seem to enjoy all the noise and activity of little ones running around. So back to the shelter she went. And now, she’s safe,
and we have promised her we’ll find her a loving, patient home.
Lady is ademure, sweet girl, but because she’s had so much turmoil in her past, she is understandably fearful, particularly of men. We suspect at some point she was abused, as she shows all the classic signs.
But that’s all over for her. Lady really wants nothing
more out of life than to be with her people, have some yummy food to eat
and a cool, air conditioned house to stay in. She loves to bask in the A/C after spending so long out in the hot desert. She prefers the company of women, as she seems more scared ofmen. After all she’s been through, she needs to feel safe and secure, so she follows her people around to make sure she
doesn’t get left behind. And get this, she’s good with cats! She hung out with a senior cat in her previous home and did just fine. She seems selective with other dogs, so we recommend a meet and greet. She hasn’t had a lot of training, so will need some leash work and obedience classes with a positive
trainer who can help build her confidence. She would do best in home with a loving, patient female to care for her most of the time. She’s starting to warm up to some of our male volunteers, so she’ll likely
get there. We also would like her to have a quiet home where she can feel loved and safe. This girl has been through a lot and deserve
s a loving, permanent family of her own. If you’d like to help Lady find her happy ending, please fill out our online application to get the approval process started. We will only schedule meet
and greets with an approved application. All staff members
are volunteers and are not compensated for their time and expenses. Many juggle family and full - time
careers while volunteering at Saving Paws. Please be patient, as sometimes it takes up to 5 days to process an application.
