My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Stars shining bright above you. Night breezes seem to whisper 'I love you'. Birds singing in the sycamore tree, dream a little dream of me. Sweet dreams till sunbeams find you. Sweet dreams that leave all worries behind you. But in your dreams whatever they be, dream a little dream of me. - from 'Dream A Little Dream' by Mama Cass We have a beautiful little girl a bit on the timid side but so wanting to be loved with all her heart. Cassie is a 9 month old Lab/Cur mix weighing 45 lbs . She will likely be around 50 to 55 lbs when full grown. Sadly our precious baby found herself in the shelter system as a puppy and ended up staying there for a few months before being pulled by rescue. She was then placed in a loving foster home where she has been gaining some much needed confidence. So far she has come a very long way from hiding in a corner to only somewhat hesitant when introduced to new situations. Foster mom says she is house/potty trained and has only had the occasional accident when not let out before the humans left home. She has done very well now that she has a routine potty regiment. Cassie is also crate trained which was used as an initial training tool. She adores being with other dogs and follows her foster siblings' lead which has tremendously helped her adjust to family life. Cassie LOVES to go on her daily walks and this too has helped her to overcome her initial fears. She does pretty good on leash other than the occasional distraction of a nosy squirrel. Cassie is a very intelligent and observant young lady eager to please and loves attention. She hates to get in trouble (it just breaks her heart) so she is pretty good about minding her manners. She is at a point now where she gets all wiggly and excited when she sees her foster family and pushes through the 4 legged crowd to get her turn to be pet and loved on. She met a couple of cats at the shelter and showed mild interest so we believe she would be fine with a kitty house mate. She presently shares a home with an 8 year old little boy and is very good with him. Obviously she is great with other dogs and we believe this precious pup would do best in a home that already has a furry brother or sister waiting for her. Cassie is already spayed, up to date on all vaccinations, current on preventatives, and micro chipped. She's waiting for a really special family who will afford her a couple of weeks of patience and understanding until she gets settled in to her loving forever home. Til then she's napping under that sycamore tree listening to the birds sing and silently hoping and thinking 'dream a little dream of me'.
Currently fostered in her home state of MS soon to be transported to the NE.
