Chester is an adorable 6 month old puppy who is looking for his forever home.  He's already 25 pounds, so we believe he will grow to be a medium to large dog. The beginning of his life has not been very easy. He was mostly kept in a crate all day and wasn't being fed nearly enough. Luckily, Misty stepped in, got him out of that situation, and is helping him learn the ropes of being in a home. He doesn't know sit or stay, just yet, but he's learning. He plays well with my dog Misty's dogs but can be a little rough so she monitors their playtime. He sleeps on a bed next to Misty and her dog and he'll stay on his bed until it's time to get up. He's not house broken, but he's learning from the other dogs on how things work around here. He doesn't chew up furniture or shoes. So far, he's not chased the cats, but my cats are still in hiding.

Our Adoption Process...

See http://www.yolocountysheriff.com/anifees.html

To adopt you must have a photo ID and proof of your current address. If not on your ID then bring in a bill with your name and your current address. If you rent you must provide a lease clearly stating the pet policy or provide a name and phone number for your landlord so that we may confirm the pet policy. If you own your home you may provide a mortgage statement or property tax bill for proof. If you wish to adopt a dog and have other dog(s) at home, please bring them with you to the shelter so that they may meet. Even if your dog is wonderful with other dogs, many of the dogs at the shelter have come in as strays so we have no history on them and need to be sure they get along with your pet(s). If you have any other questions, please call the shelter for more information.
