Therefore, if you are interested in adopting from LHS, please complete an online application at http://legacyhumanesociety.org/adoptfoster/adoption-application/ and we will contact you asap about the status of your application.

Tessa was rescued from a rural shelter where her time was running out. She is a gorgeous, energetic 44 lb one year old who would love an active family to love on and a big yard to run around in. Tessa is great with other dogs and people of all sizes but hasn't been cat tested. She does well in her crate but prefers to be where she can see her human. Tessa knows how to sit and is working on learning her manners when friends come by.  She's a sweetheart who loves to follow you around the house and spend the hot summer days in her doggie pool.

Tessa is up to date on all shots, spayed, microchipped and heartworm negative.

About Legacy Humane Society

About Our Rescue Group...

Our Purpose is:

To rescue adoptable dogs and puppies from animal shelters and animal control facilities

To rescue dogs and puppies from abusive and neglectful situations, including puppy mills and "backyard breeders"

To help educate the public on proper animal care and promote spaying and neutering of all pets

To provide medical treatment for animals in our care

To provide foster homes for animals in our care

To place rescued animals in permanent, loving homes

To build and maintain a facility to house rescued animals and host adoptions.

Come Meet Our Pets...

To meet our pets, contact us about any dog/puppy you are interested in and we'll set up a meeting time/date between the adopter and foster home.

Our Adoption Process...

Adopters will complete an adoption app. If he/she has a pet, we will check their vet reference and a home visit is not needed (as long as the vet reference is current). All pets must be UTD , current on HW prev and S/N. If a home visit is needed we will compele that ASAP--as we don't want any delays in the adoption process. The adoption fee is $200 for dogs ad $250 for puppies. We spend an average of $300 on each dog/puppy, so the adoption fee helps pay for the vetting for future dogs we bring into the program. Their is a 5 day grace period to make sure he/she is a good fit for your family.
