Meet Happy Max
Hello everyone! This is Max’s rescuer. Thank you for reading the story.
I saw Max while hiking in central mountains; he was approximately 6-month-old at that time. I didn’t see any other dogs around, he was there all by himself. Unlike most of the stray dogs that are defensive, Max wiggled at me and was so affectionate when I tried to approach him. He was skinny and I was so sad that I didn’t have any food to give him; moreover, I discovered lots of ticks on his body when touching him. If I left him there, he would either die from hunger or diseases. So immediately I took him to an animal hospital for a nice bath and thorough physical checkups. Good news was Max didn’t have any diseases nor infections.
To help Max being more socialized; Max was taken to an experienced foster home. He’s doing great with foster sibling and dogs met in parks. Despite he’s been bitten by some alpha dogs a few times, he’s still extremely friendly with dogs and people. Max barks when strangers coming into the house for warning. After few minutes to warm up, he will initiatively come for nice pets. Max is truly an enthusiastic boy. If you stay long enough to play, he is affectionate and very cuddly. Max is one of the smartest dogs I’ve ever rescued! He learns commends quickly. He knows Sit, Come, Go and Hand. Max has good memory, too. He even remembers a lady who once gave him treats and met her again few weeks later. When Max saw her, he showed her a big welcome wiggle immediately! Max is very mellow and friendly with children but scared of young child screaming noise. That makes him very nervous to run away and hide. Max is truly a good dog and hardly barks. He barks when seeing strangers coming into the house for warning. After he finds out they are friendly, he will wag his tail coming for snuggles. Max is an energetic doggie. He needs proper exercise daily to release energy. Otherwise, he might chew if he gets bored. A happy dog like Max deserves a loving home.
