Chip's Story...
Sarah and her 5 babies were found left in a hot garage, someone notified us and we got them to a safe place with a wonder cat foster. She was blessed with 1 sweet girl and 4 adorable boys, Mouse(female) and her brothers Calvin, Chip, Tyson and Dobson are the cutest little things. They are ready to go to their purrrfect forever families.

If you are interested in one of these sweet babies the adoption process is as follows:
Adoption Application (can be downloaded here: https://www.floridaurgentrescue.com/adopt )
Brief Phone interview
Homevisit
Meet and greet / pay $50 fee / take the kitten home for a week sleepover/adoption.

Our adoption fee is $50, including spay/neuter, vaccinations and microchip. We have a Buy One Get half price special on kittens/cats, so if you adopt one, you get the second kitten for a fee of $25 more. With the special, you get two kittens for $75. If you're only interested in one kitten, that's fine, too. We spay/neuter at 4 months/4 pounds, so you can take the kitten home but it's a provisional adoption. You can get a free spay/neuter at Clay Humane Society once they're old enough, and then the adoption is finalized.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Chip, a Jacksonville Domestic Shorthair kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Jacksonville, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair kitten from a breeder in Jacksonville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Jacksonville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Jacksonville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Jacksonville paves the way for another one to be saved.
