My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Grace is a 1-year-old spayed female black lab. Grace weighs 45 pounds and is up to date on shots. This dog is approved for homes with children ages 10 and up.

Grace is from a rural area and has not been exposed to traffic, noise, or groups of people. If dogs are overwhelmed by their environment, they can exhibit behaviors like excessive barking. For now, to avoid this, we are limiting placement to standalone, single family homes in a suburban neighborhood or rural area. After Grace has been in a foster home for at least a week or two, we will evaluate if placement can be expanded to include a more urban environment and will send out an update.

Aug 10, 2017: Grace is an adorable little toy fiend! She was so excited to find out that foster mom has an unending supply of toys. Her first job was to pick up one and race around the yard with it like a goofball. She's cautious when she first meets other dogs, but it only took her about two minutes to initiate a play bow. Once in the house, she found the indoor toy stash and decided she needed to hoard them. She shares just fine, but thinks it's fun to test out ALL the toys she finds. She's a super sweet girl!

Aug 5, 2017: Grace was an owner surrender to the shelter with her sister Faith. Even though Grace and Faith are sisters, they're not bonded and were separated at the shelter and were fine. Grace and Faith look very much alike, but Grace is the one with black toes on her front paws. Grace is a very sweet girl. Grace has been good around other dogs at the shelter. We don't know how Grace is with cats. Grace was around kids at her previous home, but we don't know ages. So, she's approved for kids ages 10 and up.
