Dakota's Story...
Dakota was found as a stray and brought to a local high kill shelter. She was skin and bone when brought in. When we saw this beautiful girl we knew she was coming with us. She looks great now and is just waiting for that wonderful new forever home. She is about a year old and 30lbs. We believe she is some kind of bird dog and maybe collie. We have been told she looks like a Pointer and Collie. Whatever she is, she is stunning and unique. She seems to be fine with other dogs of all sizes. We will test her with cats if need be. She is fully vetted meaning fixed, current on all shots, heartworm negative, micro chipped and on monthly prevention. She would love to have a new home with a fenced in yard to run and play. A buddy would be fun too.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Dakota, a Ashburn Pointer/Collie dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Pointer/Collie for sale in Ashburn, or seeking a Pointer/Collie dog from a breeder in Ashburn.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Ashburn already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Ashburn breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Pointer/Collie breeders who help with Pointer/Collie rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Ashburn paves the way for another one to be saved.
