My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Holland could be that dream come true pup for a family or retirees who love spending their time with a cottony-soft and very sweet companion. The Poodle/Bichon mix is a perfect combo for those who are searching for an extremely smart, very sweet and fun-loving family companion.

Holland's story is all too common in her family's need to rehome her through no fault of her own. Holland was being harassed endlessly by the family's other dog...they finally took pity on her and realized their only option was to find a home that loved her for all her wonderful traits....her engaging nature is just waiting to be enjoyed and appreciated. Holland's outgoing and social temperament lead her to ultimately become a friend with almost everyone she meets. She is such a wonderful being...we think she represents the best qualities of the Poodle and Bichon breeds.

Holland is in the process of leaving behind the challenges that made up her early life. At about 4 - 4.5 or so years old and 13 lbs, Holland is a fuzzy ball of good-will that loves to please - the happier her family is with her behavior, the more she shines with her accomplishments. We would love to see Holland in a home that includes her in family time and activities...she's very social and would thrive in a family that truly loves her and considers her a very important family member.

Holland would also be a wonderful companion for retirees who have the time and desire to be best friends with a truly adorable young pup. Holland would also do great in a family with gentle, dog-loving children who are old enough to understand that a 13 lb dog needs to be handled with care and love. Holland doesn't require another dog to be happy...but does enjoy her canine relationships with kind and gentle dogs.

Holland's New Mexico rescuer had the following to say about this sweet and lovable girl:

I'm the luckiest foster in New Mexico to have the short-term friendship of Holland! She's amazing...sweet and kind! I brought her around 3 other small dogs today and she was absolutely fine. In true Holland form - she was very sweet and appropriate. Not an ounce of aggression or ill-will anywhere in this girl. I definitely think she would be a gift to any family including dog-crazy older kids...they just must understand her small size and to never be rough with her.

I can't say for certain but Holland may initially be timid...but not to worry - she comes around to be the ultimate snuggler. Holland would be perfect for someone who wants a true best friend...and is a great size and temperament to be able to go anywhere. Holland loves me so much that she's happy to be with me at all times and is definitely my little cuddle bug.

In conclusion...Holland's temperament is wonderful...I would absolutely adopt her for my family in a second but she's scheduled for her freedom ride to Colorado. I think Holland will be overjoyed with the dog-loving families that always provide great homes for our NM dogs.

Holland is a non-shedding pup and considered to be the most hypoallergenic of breed mixes available today She will therefore require a commitment to periodic grooming to keep her coat cottony-soft and matt-free.

We've requested that Holland be spayed prior to her transport to Colorado. If this doesn't occur, Farfel's is happy to cover all costs for her spay and microchip if our Denver vet is used.

Holland will be arriving on transport in Denver on Sunday 8/13/17. Applications are currently being accepted and can be found at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/.
