We have two little pups, Spike and Rio. The finders saw them on the side of RR 12 East of the Junction, Wimberley. Their first thought was they were piglets, tiny little white things huddled together, terrified. These puppies were clearly dumped, barely 4 weeks, on the side of a busy road. We see this repeatedly, dog dumping. Why, when it is not only against the law, but just a horrible thing for a human being to do to a defenseless puppy?
There are so many good people out there though. The ladies that helped these puppies, called us and then donated to their care. Thank you. These little guys were covered in dozens of fleas, so much so, they had patches of hair missing; full of intestinal parasites and giardia (intestinal bacteria) and very underweight.
Spike and Rio are improving, gaining weight, hair growing back and very playful, happy puppies. They will need more deworming and are now due for their first vaccinations. A donation for their care would really help as we get them ready for adoption in a couple more weeks.

Our Adoption Process...
The adoption application helps WAG Rescue and the adopter determine what they are looking for in their future pet. It also provides background information about the potential adopter and their family. After the adoption application is received, a brief telephone interview is conducted. This is very informal. At this time arrangements will be made for the potential adopter to meet their dog of choice. If this "meet and greet" is successful the next step will be a home visit. Then, the adoption process is finalized with a formal adoption agreement.
We receive multiple applications on a dog and each application is reviewed in the order in which it was received.
WAG Rescue looks forward to meeting with you. Our goal is provide you, your family, and your future four-legged family member with the best possible tools to have a successful and fulfilling life together.
