About Our Rescue Group...
The Wolf Trap Animal Rescue is an established not-for-profit 501(c)(3) business that currently operates by remote location to facilitate operations for transport, foster, and adoption events to aid in the rescue of puppies and kittens whom are at risk of euthanasia by shelters in Mississippi and other states of the South. Since May 2015, Wolf Trap Animal Rescue has successfully adopted over 740 dogs & puppies, and 35 cats & kittens, with a total of over 800 animals rescued from euthanasia. The rescue has an amazing network of volunteers and fosters that are dedicated to help save more lives through this rescue program.
Wolf Trap Animal Rescue’s primary mission is to support a life-saving foster, transport, and adoption program which was developed in order to rescue young animals in danger of being euthanized in Mississippi from overpopulation. The transports help relieve the shelters from overcrowding, thus allowing additional time and resources to be spent on the older, less adoptable residents of the shelter that would otherwise be euthanized. Rescued animals are transported by volunteers of Wolf Trap Animal Rescue, where pets reside in foster homes until they find their forever home through on-site adoption events located at designated PetSmart Charities® and Unleashed by PETCO locations.

What are the requirements to adopt a puppy? There are no situational requirements other than that your current pet/pets need to be up-to date on their vaccinations, as well as spay/neutered. This demonstrates responsible pet ownership.
Do you require home visits? No, we screen potential adopters by veterinary references. If you do not have a veterinary reference that we can call and verify, you will be required to schedule a follow-up home visit with our veterinarian, Dr. Amber Burton. There, she will inspect the premises and provide information regarding the health and behavior of your new pet, as well as discuss the responsibilities of new puppy/pet ownership in order to help set you and your new companion up for success. If you have a Veterinarian, we will call them to verify.
How can I see pictures of the puppies available? You can view them on our website, as well as our Instagram and facebook.
Can I bring my current dog with me to see if they get along? You can, however it is strongly discouraged. An adoption event can be very stressful for both your dog as well as the puppy. This situation is not ideal, nor does it demonstrate accurate behavior responses that otherwise one might see in a calm setting.
How much is the adoption fee? The current adoption fee for dogs/puppies is $425 cash, or $435 credit. The adoption fee for cats/kittens is $175 cash, $185 credit. This fee covers the cost of spay/neuter, vaccinations, microchip, deworming, flea/tick control, transport, food, and foster supplies.
