Some mixed breed puppies have come to the shelter to look for forever homes.  They are part bluetick coonhound and part heeler, so they will likely be medium to large when they grow up.  They are presently 10-12 weeks old.  Sweeny is a male, tri-colored, and weighs 19.4 pounds. The other males are Chaunce who is black and tan with black on top of his toes and mainly black ears and who weighs 15.6 pounds; Tumbleweed who is white with black and brown spots and who weighs 16.2 pounds; Chaplin who is black with dark brown and a few white hairs on his chest who weighs 13.4 pounds; and Bluegrass who is black with brown feet with black spots and some brown on his chest and who weighs 16.4 pounds.  The females include Ashlee who is mostly black but has brown legs, black toes, and a white spot on her chest and who weighs 11 pounds; Kassidy who is mostly black but with brown ears laced in black, no white on her chest, and the tip of her tail bends like it has been broken and who weighs in at 12 pounds; Lavender who is white with brown speckles, brown toes, and brown ears with black edges and who weighs 11.6 pounds (and who has luckily found a home).  All of these pups seem very meek when they are one-on-one with people, but when together in their pen they run to people and jump up for attention.  They are the perfect age to start training!  Who will take a puppy to love and train and spend quality time with for the rest of its days?

Our Adoption Process...

All potential adopters should meet dogs/cats wanted for adoption. No animals will leave the shelter without being spayed/neutered, including those going to rescue. You are asked to fill out an adoption application which will be reviewed by the director of the shelter (a vet reference is needed). If approved the shelter staff will contact you and schedule an appointment with our vet to have the animal altered. The adoption fee is paid and the adoption contract signed before the scheduled surgery date. The process can be as soon as the following day or as long as a week depending on the vet's schedule. The adoption fee depends on the age, sex, if they fixed, etc. ranging from $5.00 to $68.00.
