Here's what the humans have to say about me:
WE NEED YOUR HELP to find Max a good home. He’s a (neutered) Maine Coon mix. It seems he’s been trying to fend for himself for quite some time. The poor little guy came to us loaded with fleas and the resultant loss of his beautiful fur. He also tested positive for FIV antibodies in his blood. That could be because he at some point was vaccinated for FIV. It could be that his mother was positive for FIV and passed the antibodies on to him in her milk, or he could have sustained a deep-wound bite from an infected cat somewhere along the way. We just don’t know his history.
Some people still believe that cats with FIV can spread the virus to other cats by sharing food and water bowls and litter boxes. In truth, the only way one cat can infect another is by biting. Most cats with FIV show no symptoms and live long lives. WE ARE LOOKING FOR SOMEONE WITH NO OTHER CATS AND A LOVING HEART TO GIVE MAX THE HAPPY HOME HE DESERVES. If you’re that special person, please come meet him. Max is very friendly and has a calm and trusting temperament. See him at the Euclid Animal Shelter, 25100 Lakeland Blvd.
