Hello I'm Rouge, I got my name because I am an independent girl. I'll hang out with my friends but I am also comfortable exploring on my own. I'm 2-3 months old and an orphan. My mother was taken away from me when I was only a few weeks old. The folks and Kindness Ranch have shown me how to drink from a bucket, eat milk pellets and grain and I'm learning other great stuff too. I lead, load and tie and I'm working on having my feet handled. Are you ready to go on an adventure with me?!

About Kindness Ranch Animal Sanctuary

About Our Shelter...

The mission of the Kindness Ranch is to provide a sanctuary and place of rehabilitation for animals who have been used in laboratory research.

Staff at Kindness Ranch work to rehabilitate our dogs and cats in a home-like environment. Cats and dogs at the ranch live together with their human caretakers in spacious yurts specially designed to meet their needs. They receive round-the-clock care to help them adjust to their new lives.

The Kindness Ranch also provides foster and adoption programs for all the animals we can rehabilitate. Those who are too debilitated, old or ill to be placed in a loving home can remain on the ranch to live out their days, surrounded by caretakers and volunteers who put the animals’ well-being first.

Come Meet Our Pets...

Potential adopters are welcome to visit Kindness Ranch and meet the animals by appointment. Some animals are also able to visited in or near their foster homes. We sometimes hold adoption events in Cheyenne, WY and Casper, WY.

Our Adoption Process...

We require an adoption application to be filled out and may request a home visit if deemed necessary. Potential adopters are counseled on the special needs that many lab animals have and will work with a staff member to find a good match for their home. The adoption fee is $50 for cats and $150 for dogs. All adopters sign an adoption contract, as well, and are encouraged to keep in touch with pictures and stories!
