Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Landon is a 4-6 year old 61lb Rough Collie male who was found as a stray in rural Arkansas. His coat had to be shaved due to severe matting, but in time, it will grow back into a beautiful typical long-haired collie coat.
Landon is a very happy, sweet, playful boy with an endearing, puppyish personality. He loves dog toys and play chase with his foster collie brother and sister. He walks well on a leash until he sees another dog or a squirrel or a cat, at which point he will pull and bark loudly. For that reason, he would do best with someone who will not be easily pulled down by a strong dog.
His ideal forever home will be willing to work with him to stop his leash pulling, barking, and counter-surfing, and will not be irritated by puppyish antics such as the playful nibbling of hands and legs. Although he is very playful, Landon will also settle down in the house fairly quickly when his foster mother tells him that playtime is over.
Landon has just been neutered. He is crate trained and housebroken, but he may initially try to mark in the house if unsupervised. Landon comes when called and has learned to sit, to shake hands, and to lie down on command, especially if a treat is involved. He would benefit greatly from an obedience course to help him with his leash walking. He seems to be very good with young children, but he may be a bit much for a toddler or baby.
Landon is being fostered in Memphis TN area.
