Katniss's Story...
Hello—my name is Katniss and I am a 10 week old domestic shorthair little girl. I am a little shy sometimes but I would love to purr and cuddle in your arms! I do really love to cuddle! My best friend named Pearl is sleeping next to me right now and while we would love to go to the same home, we do not have to be adopted together. I enjoy long walks on the bed and a fun shiny toy to play with. I was found in a garbage can when I was 5 weeks old, but now I am very happy and healthy and looking for my forever home with you! If you are looking for unconditional love and have room in your heart and home for a kitty or two, please call 516-746-1566 and ask for Dr. Waters

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Katniss, a Great Neck Domestic Shorthair kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Great Neck, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair kitten from a breeder in Great Neck.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Great Neck already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Great Neck breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Great Neck paves the way for another one to be saved.
