Named for a famous Chinese actress and political figure during the Cultural Revolution, Jiang Qing is a super-sweet 10-year-old tortoiseshell that aspires to nothing more than having a loving home of her own. This petite kitty came to AFRP after being found living in a hoarding situation. She is now in good health, though does have an old hip injury that causes her to walk with a little hitch in her gait. Quiet, gentle and affectionate, Jiang Qing loves to be petted and brushed. She has a silly habit of drinking water by putting her paw in the bowl and licking the water from her paw! Meet Jiang Qing at the AFRP Adoption Center in Pacific Grove.

About Animal Friends Rescue Project

About Our Rescue Group...

AFRP is a nonprofit organization dedicated to finding good permanent homes for stray, abandoned, and abused companion animals. We are also dedicated to ending the companion animal overpopulation problem through focussed spay/neuter programs.

Come Meet Our Pets...

Animal Friends Rescue Project has a main adoption center and many satellite adoption sites. Our Main Adoption Center is located at 560 Lighthouse Ave in Pacific Grove. We are open Tuesday through Saturday 12-5. Adoptable cats are always on site. We also bring 5-10 adoptable dogs to the center from shelters or their foster homes on a daily basis. If you are interested in meeting a specific dog from our website, please call 333-0722 or email info@animalfriendsrescue.org. Check our website for a complete listing of our satellite adoption sites, dates of our adoption days, and dogs and cats available for adoption (www.animalfriendsrescue.org).

Our Adoption Process...

The adoption fee for a cat is $150 which includes their spay/neuter, vaccines, microchipping, and FIV/FeLV testing. The adoption fee is $200-$300. The adoption fee helps to cover the cost of the care the animal has received, including spay/neuter, vaccines, microchipping, deworming, and flea treatment.

All potential adopters complete an application and are screened using a standardized series of questions by a trained adoption counselor. If the application and screening are satisfactory, a qualified adopter can complete a contract, pay the adoption fee and take the animal home.
