found a new home!
Plenty of my friends are looking
for one too. Find a pet to adopt.
I am already spayed, up to date with shots, good with kids, good with dogs, and good with cats.
Nevaeh was recently surrendered to our Rescue because her family is moving and can’t take her with. They tried rehoming her, but she was so scared when meeting the new people that she just growled at everyone. Nevaeh is a nervous, timid little lady, so we’re not surprised that she was fearful in those situations.
Nevaeh is about a year old. She previously spent time around other dogs, cats, and even a rabbit and did very well. She was puppy pad trained in the house, but she is not currently crate trained. Her previous family reports that Nevaeh has a bit of separation anxiety and got very attached to her guardian. She would follow her person around the home and want to be in her lap all the time. When Nevaeh’s guardian tried to put her in a kennel, she would cry because she didn’t like to be left alone; and when her human left her alone outside of the kennel, she would chew on things.
Nevaeh will need some help learning what she can and can’t chew on, though we expect that her destructive behavior could be managed with plenty of mental and physical stimulation -- and with another shot at crate training. With patience, Nevaeh can learn that the crate is a safe spot. Here at the Rescue, she keeps her area clean and seems fine in the kennel. She doesn’t really show signs of anxiety that would indicate that the kennel itself is the problem.
Nevaeh will need someone who’s willing to give her the time and space she needs to blossom. She is overwhelmed at the moment (can’t say that we blame her), but in the past few days she’s started to come out of her shell here. Who will give her a second chance?
