Zantar is sadly looking for a new permanent home and he is and his owner are sad but know it is best.  This 5 year old male that weighs 85 pounds has lived with a fabulous mom for the past 2 years after he spent his first 3 years outside and chained up.   His first owner got a divorce and moved away and left him with the ex-wife who didn’t want him to begin with.  Then his current Mom took him in and treated him for heartworms and has loved him dearly.  She has found herself divorced and now also disabled due to a severe tear of her hip joint and will require extensive surgery and recovery.  This boy needs a mom and dad who can walk him and help him go outside every day.  His current mom can barely walk and cannot maneuver steps at all. Zantar is housebroken and is a truly well mannered boy.  He should have a fenced yard and two walks daily for the proper exercise and freedom to be a dog that is a smart and special boy. This boy loves other dogs and especially puppies.   He is not a cat lover so NO CATS need apply to adopt Zantar!  J This boy is fed in his crate so that there is no threat of another dog Getting his food which he does not appreciate at all.  He has gone to work with his vet tech mom every day since 2015 and so he knows how to hang out in an office.  He loves car rides, going to the lake, destroying tennis balls and loving his owner unconditionally and with all his heart.   This handsome boy is being rehomed because his mom loves him enough to realize that she must set him free and not live through her long and difficult recovery time.  If you love the breed and want to give this boy a home please email us at   he is currently in the Nashville, TN area in his home and Critter Cavalry Rescue transports up to the northeast almost every weekend.   He will come fully vetted and neutered and heartworm negative and microchipped.

PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or

About Critter Companion Rescue- DC

About Our Rescue Group...

We are a group of dedicated rescue people who want to save as many dogs and cats from the local shelters before they are euthanized. On the average....there are only 1 out of 10 animals that get adopted from a shelter. We are dedicated to helping increase pet adoptions by offering a shelter animal a foster home to go to while awaiting an adoptive family to find them on our Petfinder website. Won't you please adopt a shelter animal? Or won't you please help us foster a shelter animal while we are looking for their perfect home? What a gift you can give a dog or cat by giving them a place to feel safe and secure....a forever home or a foster home. Won't you help us at Critter Companion Rescue give them a chance to have a life?

Our Adoption Process...

Most all our dogs are fostered in Tennessee and transport up to the Northeast or New England. Our fees start at $500 and can be higher depending on the dog and circumstances for their vetting. All fees cover the health certificate, transportation up to designated places for families to pick up their pre-adopted dog, spay/neuter, rabies, all shots, fecal and dewormings, microchip, complete vet check up and 4 way heartworm test if dogs are older than 8 months.
