My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This fun and adorable little terrier mix is Willie. Willie craves love and attention - and a lap! Offer him your lap, up he'll jump, and he'll be your best friend. He is a lover and always has a fresh supply of kisses for everyone he meets. Once warming up to you, he will follow you everywhere you go and will make the perfect choice for someone wanting a one-on-one relationship with a canine companion. Willie loves to sleep under your covers by your feet. Or, you may wake up with Willie next to you in your arms. He just loves to snuggle and be held.

Willie is 12 pounds and estimated to be only about a year old. Because he is young, he needs a family who can provide him sufficient exercise. He is making good progress on his housebreaking and is looking forward to puppy school. He appears to get along with other dogs, at least small dogs (who he enjoys playing with) and when introduced properly. He isn't accustomed to a lot of noise and commotion, so he would do best in a home without small children or a lot of people coming and going. Willie would do best with a person/couple/family that isn't away routinely for long hours.

You can meet Willie at his foster home, Wilmette Pet Center, 7 days a week during normal store hours (625 Green Bay Road, 847-251-6750, www.wilmettepetcenter.com).

Willie's adoption fee of $325 includes vet exam, heartworm test, DAPP (distemper combo) combination, Bordetella vaccination, Rabies vaccination, heartworm preventative, routine deworming, flea/tick preventative, microchip and neuter.
