My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Little Holly Sunshine is approx 2-3 yrs and 11 lbs.. Sadly she was found on the side of the road with multiple burns all over her body. The vet had no idea what caused them but felt that she had been abused. She spent 6 weeks at the vets getting daily treatments for her wounds and has pulled through it all really well. She is just the sweetest little girl. She has looked beyond her mistreatment and is always happy. Her tail is always wagging. She loves to sit on your lap and is the prefect lap dog. She gets along with all of the other dogs and really loves to eat.. She picked out her favorite dog beds in each room and is just the most wonderful little girl. She does have some hair growing back over her burns but not sure if it all will grow back. She gets better every day. She seems to be house trained and does well on a leash..She will need an all adult home with older children.

The total adoption donation of $525 and includes the required interstate health certificate and transport , spay/neuter, shots including rabies, bordatella, parvo, lepto, distemper and canine influenza, and micro chip with a lifetime pre paid registration. The total amount is payable to Shaggy Dog Rescue which is a 501c3. Some of our dogs are still in Texas in foster care. The application is online at http://houstonshaggydogrescue.org/application-process/

Just as a note, if you are in Massachusetts and are adopting directly from Texas rather than from a local foster, there are new quarantine laws in effect. All rescues must be quarantined 48 hours at a state run facility, and in addition, a second interstate health certificate is required to be issued by a Massachusetts vet. This new law may add an additional cost.
