Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Tito. Tito is a pug, boxer, shepherd mix believed to be around 2 to 3 years old. Tito was at the Indianapolis Animal Care Services (IACS) in need of rescue and we couldn’t resist. We were told that Tito had previously been with a family who “didn’t have time for him”, we were also told that the father was not so nice to Tito. Because of that we see him holding back with us at the sanctuary. We can see he wants to love us, but is holding back probably in fear of getting hurt. We have seen zero aggression from Tito and have even tried pushing him to his limits, he just backs away.
Despite his not so great beginning, Tito is a very mellow fellow and easy going. He has an old soul feeling to him, but still gets playful but not hyper. He does great with smaller dogs. He is terrified of larger dogs, so slow introductions is a must. He lived in a home with 4 children. He seems fine with cats so far, no red flags in that area. He is house and crate trained and walks well on a leash. Tito really enjoys his quiet time and just hanging out.
Tito would make a great companion dog. He would also do well as an apartment dog. His forever family needs to be willing to work with Tito to build a strong, trusting bond. We can see this boy has so much love to give, he just needs to know you are not going to hurt or betray him.
Tito needs someone willing to give him the time he needs to build trust, but we are certain once you have it you won’t be disappointed. Could you give Tito the life he deserves and show him unconditional love?
