My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

"Eevee" is a stunning 13-mos old female Anatolian Shepherd mix who is very sweet, submissive and playful. She is a good watchdog, however--true to her Anatolian lineage. Her "breeders" claim that both parents were purebred Anatolian Shepherds, but Eevee does not have the stocky build of a purebred Anatolian, and her coat (blue/grey) is suggestive of an Australian Shepherd. Eevee weighs approx 60 lbs, and likely won't be much more than 80 lbs fully grown (much less than a purebred Anatolian).

Eevee is friendly with most everyone she meets, though she was timid of me after I had to yell at a couple of my dogs for excessive barking when Eevee arrived, which was making her nervous. She is reportedly fine with visitors to her home. She is great with children, and has been socialized w/ one of her owner's 6-yo niece as well as other slightly older kids.

Eevee is great with other dogs, and is a regular dog park visitor. Though she was timid of my small group of dogs at first, within about 20 minutes she was running around with them. See elsewhere on this page for a video of Eevee walking around the pond at GSRSV's rescue ranch with a few other dogs. Eevee is somewhat food and object aggressive with other dogs, so she will need some work in these areas. She does not display such behavior with people, as I can readily remove her food or a toy from her without any objection on her part.

Eevee is an unknown with cats, so I will only consider a home without cats for her.

Eevee is housetrained, but did spend her days outside in her former home. Her former owners used to bring her in at night because she would alarm-bark at the slightest sounds outside. She would sleep uncrated and was fine inside throughout the night.

Eevee has not had any formal obedience training, but does obey simple commands such as "sit"--as long as their is a treat as incentive! She walks OK on leash, but does want to check out most every smell she comes across. She is a good passenger in a vehicle.

Eevee received all three of her distemper/parvo "puppy shots" (documentation provided), as well as rabies vaccination and deworming. She was spayed on August 23, and also had her rear dewclaws (which were "double dewclaws") surgically removed. The dewclaw removal cost an additional $100, so GSRSV is adding that cost to Eevee's adoption fee. (The surgery, which most people would have wanted, would have cost much more if not in conjunction with Eevee's spay.)

Eevee's owners purchased her from a private party when she was eight weeks old. Though they loved her, they did not realize the time commitment for such a large, active dog when they purchased her as a puppy, and didn't have enough time to spend with her.

GSRSV took Eevee in on 8-17-17. Her adoption fee is $310.
