My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Free Willy, the Movie, was mentioned upon the rescue of our Willy. The movie about a young Orca Whale that goes on to have a happy ending. We want our Willy to have a happy ending, too. This amazing boy did not have a very good start to his young life. Abandoned, tied to a chain link fence on a vacant lot, weeds growing all around him, not even visible to the eye. Animal control was called to investigate a possible deceased dog. Low and behold, amidst overgrown brush, was a brindle and white tail wagging! ;-)

Upon his discovery, Willy was rushed to a local vet's office. His eye was damaged beyond saving. :-( The vet stated blunt force trauma to the head. Most likely a bat. We just can not fathom the pain, confusion, the absolute terror Willy had to endure. His wondering what he had done to be the victim of such blatant abuse - is just totally beyond our comprehension. This dog is unbelievable in every sense of the word. His resilience is remarkable!! Willy did not deserve or understand this horrific abuse at the hands of a human being. But, he holds no grudges towards mankind. He is loving towards all people. Just longs to be petted and will nuzzle you if you do decide to halt your petting of him. I.e. - his first bath EVER - we are sure! Just loved the attention and I'm sure he felt SO good after a tub full of dirt was removed from him. His coat brought back to a shinny bright gleam!

Willy is a true survivor! Willy is in foster care learning to be a dog again. Lots of fresh air, daily walks where he can sniff and roll in grass to his sweet heart's content. Willy is a young eager to learn pup. Doing great with all the people that he meets, young and adult. He is good left unattended. Truly enjoys his toys, car rides, is house broken, a great snuggle buddy. Doing well with the dogs that he has met.
His first vet visit - was excited to meet his new fur buddies, then just laid down and did his "frog legs" stance. Lol But in one simple phrase - Willy is just one happy loving boy!! Who now so deserves much more then his past has given him. Let's give "Our" Willy a happy ending, too. ;-)

Willy is approx. 1-2 yrs old, 54 lbs, has met children (even a baby), adults and does well with dogs. Got a bath last week at a self bathing place and loved it! He's currently in a foster home where he's doing very well. He's fully vetted and available for adoption. Don't hesitate to reach with interested or submit an adoption application today.
