My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Penny Ann. She came into UYR from a hoarding situation. Penny Ann is 2 years old and weighs 9 lbs. Her adoption fee is $500. She is being fostered in Ocala, FL.

UPDATED BIO 08/15/2017: Hi - Penny Ann here. I wanted to let everyone know how I am doing since I was rescued from my previous home - it wasn’t a very happy place to be. I was one of 25 dogs living there and I didn’t get much attention or love. I had hundreds of fleas on me which made me itch really bad and I scratched so much that I’m missing some of my hair and my skin needs a little TLC. But I am so happy to be in my foster home. My foster mom has several dog fur-babies that have already become my friends. I love sleeping in the comfy and sweet-smelling doggie beds. I didn’t always have a clean place to sleep in my prior home, and sometimes I had to sleep on the hard floor. I also love sleeping with my foster mom and fur-brothers in the big bed at night.

I have a new name now and I really like it. I’ve never had a name before and it’s kinda nice. I am learning to come when my foster mom calls me. I love all the attention my foster mom is giving me, even though it includes lots of baths. I am currently sporting a very pretty diaper since I am not house-trained yet, but she and I are working on that. I never went outside to go do my business before, so it’s a work in progress, but I’m a smart little girl and I have my fur-brothers to teach me proper doggie manners. I have also adapted to using this thing called a leash. I have never been walked on a leash before so this is new to me. I think I like it – maybe.

I went to the vet yesterday. The vet said I have a few minor health issues because of the really bad conditions in my previous home. But he said all that can be resolved with some antibiotics. I don’t know what this means, but I am getting spayed next week. I think it means I won’t ever have puppies again and that’s just fine and dandy with me.

Even though I already love my foster mom, I am looking for my forever home. If you want a smart, cute little girl that loves to sit in your lap, complete an application so we can meet. You are gonna love me and I’m sure I will love you back.

INITIAL BIO 08/12/2017: Pretty as a Penny came into UYR today from an horrendous hoarding situation . Please watch our website for pictures and updates very soon.

PLEASE NOTE: UYR took in a total of 11 dogs today from this hoarding situation, including Penny. None of these dogs received any routine veterinarian care and all will need to receive vaccinations, worming, microchips, dentals, fecals, HW testing and will be altered. Please help us help Penny and the other precious yorkies taken in today by donating to their vetting expenses, which will be very high due to the number of dogs coming in today. No donation is too small. You can donate to any of these dogs by clicking on the Donation Button below. Thank you from Penny and the other dogs, and especially from the folks at United Yorkie Rescue who participated in their rescue/transport and to the foster moms and dads who so eagerly stepped forward to foster
