My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Keegan: Born May 1, 2017, male, Bronze-Spotted Egyptian Mau mix

Here is a beautiful little boy. He has spots everywhere except under his white chin. He is a lovebug, a very sweet little boy. Right now, despite these photos of him cuddling in a lap, his great joy in life is running. His body is growing long, lithe, and sleek. He is built to run. Egyptian Maus are actually the fastest runners of any breed in the domestic cat world; some have reached speeds of 30 mph. Keegan is just a kitten, but already you can see what an athlete he is. Maus have eyes that are generally a green color as you can see in the two last internet photos of Maus which I included at the bottom of Keegan’s photos. (For internet photos, go to purebredsplus.org.) Mau kitten eyes actually change color as they become mature adults, most turning a green color. Egyptian Maus are good, loyal, family cats. In addition to being highly intelligent and forever playful, they are an unusually healthy breed.

Keegan came to me from a friend who has already brought me two Egyptian Mau mix kittens, Guinness and Maggie, both adopted. There is talk of an unneutered Egyptian Mau male out in their neighborhood. I have included at the bottom of Keegan’s bio some photos of Egyptian Maus from the internet for comparison. Keegan looks like a Mau kitten but, as is often the case, we cannot know for sure. He is certainly is a beautiful, healthy, happy, loving kitten. Some family will be so lucky. He would prefer a family with another cat for him to play with.

Keegan eats wet and dry food and is litterbox perfect.

His foster mom is Harriet in Santa Cruz.
Contact Harriet at (831) 336-2983 or toharrietjane@comcast.net if you have questions, or send an Adoption Application. If you are unable to reach Harriet by phone or email, email us at Info@purebredsplus.org.

NOTE: We prefer families with children bring them to the adoption appointment. Why? This allows interaction between the children and the cat. This helps ensure they will be a good fit for each other. A mismatch between a child and a cat is not in anyone’s best interest!
