Sabre's Story...
Sabre is a young male who was surrendered to Rescue when his family moved. Sabre had significant physical problems when he arrived, but we’ve been able to resolve most of them. Sabre does have mild arthritis in his toes, knees and hips, but does well as long as he remains warm and active. The vet believes he should be able to live a long and happy life without pain although he may need Rimidyl to stay comfortable later in life. Sabre is good with other dogs and cats, but he is a little grouchy at times so he needs a gentle canine playmate. Sabre is reliably housetrained and is not destructive when left alone in the house. He is very loving and friendly to people and is good with children age 8 and older. Sabre's adoption fee is $200. MSBR is located in Charleston, WV and we adopt only to approved residents of West Virginia. To complete an application for adoption, please visit

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sabre, a Charleston Boxer dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Boxer for sale in Charleston, or seeking a Boxer dog from a breeder in Charleston.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Charleston already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Charleston breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Boxer breeders who help with Boxer rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Charleston paves the way for another one to be saved.
