Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Chico is no longer accepting applications
12/6/17- a donor has pre-paid part of Chico's adoption fee to help Chico find his home!
11/15/17 - Update on Chico
Chico hasn't had any accidents in the house and has been sharing a bed with his foster. Chico is a snuggly guy who needs a family of his own
8/17/17 - My name is Chico
Chico is 3 to 5-year-old and has been through more in his short life than anyone should have to endure. Chico's owner, caregiver, person was in a serious car accident that left him with a brain injury. While in the hospital, the girlfriend abandoned Chico at a rural kill shelter. He spent months there, outside in the Alabama heat. He watched dogs come and go. When he was finally heartworm tested, and he tested positive, he had very little time to live at the shelter. That's when our foster and coordinator knew she had to get him out of there. He has now been treated for the heartworm and is ready to make a family very happy. He is a strong boy, but walk well on a leash. He loves attention and cuddles and treats! He is great with people and other dogs. He misses his "person" and will be an extremely loyal companion given another chance.
The adoption fee of $300 includes age-appropriate vaccines, initial de-worming, spay/neuter surgery, microchip, USDA interstate health certificate (for transport only) and transport fee. Please go to our site for general information and the adoption application. fordogssakerescue.org. The application is the first step in all adoptions/inquiries. This is not a link; please type in into a new browser window. At this time, we are unable to adopt to Rhode Island residents. Please note: Pups marked “pending” are adopted but not yet traveled home. They are to be considered unavailable. Thank you. Additional information is available on our site fordogssakerescue.org.
