My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

MILO
Born ~Dec 2016, Male, Brown/Tabby Abyssinian Mix
Bonded with his brother and must be adopted with him; special $300 fee for pair

If you’re looking for a forever friend that will be there for you through all of the highs and lows of life, then look no further. Milo is one of the sweetest cats that I have ever known, and he loves nothing more than to be with his family and his brother, Rudy. Whether cooking a meal in the kitchen or brushing your teeth in the bathroom, Milo just wants to be in on the action and supervising. Milo is a very handsome, 9 month old Abyssinian boy who will draw you with his beautiful green eyes, stunning dark brown ticked coat, and his adorable face which to me looks more like that of a Chausie.

Milo is bonded with his equally handsome brother, Rudy, which means both boys have to be adopted together. To me, Milo is the calmer, more confident one of the two brothers. He always comes strutting into a room with his tail held high and tends to be the leader in everything to do with his brother, teaching him how fun it is to play with toys and to trust in people. Though Milo might be the quieter of the two brothers, he wants loving just as much as his brother. I lovingly call the two of them my "Tazmanian Love Devils" because they're so effusive in showing affection when they first greet you. In the morning, when I let the boys out of their room they both run up to me on the couch and jump into my lap. Then they both start purring, nuzzling my face and hands, climbing all over me, and nibbling.

Milo also loves the times he gets you all to himself. He'll just lie in your lap, purring and wanting to be petted, or be content to just snuggle up next to you. If I'm watching a show on my phone or TV, Milo lies on the back of the couch looking over my shoulder or lies next to me and looks like he’s also watching the show. The couple of times I slept in the room with the brothers, Milo always wanted to be in bed right next to me the whole night whereas Rudy would come and go. He's a good brother in that when he hears his brother meow out in distress, he'll go and find Rudy to bring him back to the family. Both want to be wherever their family is, but Milo is more content to just lie down in the room you're in or to follow you through the house.

Taking these two on will require an experienced cat owner, an owner used to the high energy of kittens, and the even higher energy levels of Abyssinian kittens. Milo and Rudy need a lot of stimulation and play time; otherwise, they tend to begin getting into mischief and high jinks. They’re always into checking out drawers or cupboards, going into closets or up onto high shelves, into the bathtub or onto desks. Milo actually has loved playing the Frisky's fish game on my phone and chasing after the bird on the string, plus they could both spend hours chasing after the red dot. Both of them love climbing and looking out the window at the scenery or up into the condo to survey their family, so a window perch or a couple of tall cat towers would be great. They are young and tend to still chew on things so be careful what is left around the house.

Milo and Rudy will also bring a lot of laughter and love into whatever family is lucky enough to adopt them and, in my humble opinion, you will have hit the jackpot in terms of love, affection, and purrsonality. A family that is gone all the time won't work for these two, especially Rudy, as they need someone who works from home or at least someone home more than they're gone. Milo would be okay with other cats or pets in the house, but Rudy hasn't done as well so I think a family where these two could be the only stars is essential. And really, you wouldn't need more than these two to keep you busy. The other day, my friend came over with her three kids and next thing I see is Milo jumping up into the lap of her three old son while he was reading before going to greet her daughters. So I think their forever home could have a few older kids who have been around cats since Milo loved being around the kids. Rudy would need a little bit of time to be as comfortable around kids as Milo, but he at least came downstairs to check out my friend’s kids from a distance
Milo is a healthy 9 month old Abyssinian mix kitten. He comes neutered, fully vaccinated, and is microchipped. Milo eats both wet and dry food plus the occasional Temptation Treat. He has perfect litter box manners, uses scratching posts, and will let you trim his nails.

Milo is fostered with his brother, Rudy, at Juliana's house in Santa Rosa, CA,which is in Sonoma County and can be reached through her email abbytabby@hotmail.com or her cell (707)694-3733 or through the Purebreds Plus Cat Rescue website
