Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Purebreds Plus Cat Rescue is helping facilitate the adoption of this cat. We take no responsibility for the health and medical records of this cat. It is the responsibility of the owner and adopter to discuss this. Bryce is not in a Purebreds Plus Cat Rescue foster home but residing with the Marin Humane Society in Novato, CA. Should be an only cat
“I need time to warm up, but I am worth the wait.” That is the assessment provided by the wonderful people at the shelter where lovely and sweet Bryce is currently residing.
Bryce is a very handsome fellow with stunning coloring. Bryce seems to have had little experience around people and is quite shy, but wants to be held and petted.
A shy cat will do best in a quiet home with an experienced guardian who understands that patience and plenty of TLC will be needed to help a “scaredy cat” become comfortable in his new surroundings. Begin by giving Bryce a small private room outfitted with everything that he will need for the first few weeks. Make sure Bryce has a cozy bed with high sides so that he can feel safe and secure. Spend lots of time together, enticing Bryce to play with a toy or two, and talking quietly while you snuggle and cuddle with him.
When the time comes to allow brief explorations beyond the safety of this private space, carefully supervise Bryce’s “coming out party.” Introduce him slowly to other parts of the house. In time, he will feel secure in your home and become a devoted and affectionate companion. Please do understand that a shy cat may always need a safe place to hide from time to time and often when strangers come to visit.
While here at the shelter, Bryce seemed to become upset when around other cats and in the presence of dogs, so an indoor home where he is the sole object of your attention and affection will suit him just fine.
Please note that Bryce is not with Purebreds Plus Cat Rescue. We are courtesy posting him for the Marin Humane Society in Novato, CA.
