My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

12/8/08 Beautiful Velvet has a new home ! We are so happy for her!
11/26/08 More from Velvet's foster mom..."As near as we can figure out Velvet is afraid of Emmy the Cat - Emmy is about 14 years old and likes to act the bit of a grouch - for the time being Velvet has moved upstairs into my husband 's office. We are working on getting her down stairs more and more but -if, we are not actively making over her she just slips upstairs to lay in front of the door going out overhead - the dog is not a threat to the cat - the cat at this point is doing her best to threating the dog and reviling in her power - she, Velvet, is happy, eating well, bowels moving well - so far have not been able to engage her in play with toys - she is sweet and loving, reponding to petting with a wagging tail and smiling face, and would make an excellent pet .

11/25/08 Velvet's new foster mom says "Well, here we are with Velvet - she is very sweet as you said and very quiet -not interested in toys at all yet. She sleeps a lot - must be tired from her journey - but is happy and affectionate when awake. "

11/22/08 Wow! Her pictures don't do her justice! Velvet is here and she is beautiful! She is such an interesting mix of breeds. She is mellow and very sweet, super affectionate with people, and so far a little iffy with our male foster dog. She was shy at first with him but then was a little territorial - she probably is just so confused by all that has happened to her, as she was absolutely fine with all the dogs at the transport. Velvet is very skinny; it makes you just want to give her a snack! She doesn't really know what to do with toys, and walks great on leash. She will make a terrific family dog! When she fills out more with some good meals she will be a knock-out beauty!

10/28/08: Velvet has been tested and found to be fine with the cats and gentle with the children. She is currently staying in a vet's office where they are understaffed and the dogs are not able to get out every day. Can you offer beautiful Velvet a foster home until she finds her forever home?

10/10/08: Oh my...poor Velvet has tested positive for heartworm(s). She would appreciate some sponsor money to help her with treatment. Oh and she still needs a foster family as well.

9/28/08: Meet the lovely Velvet! She has the most gorgeous coat - beautiful grey and white, the legs of a greyhound and the eyes and ears of a Weimaraner
Velvet was found as a stray at the local hospital. She is a very sweet dog who gets along with kids.
Because the shelter is full to the brim - She is being boarded at a vet's office. Velvet needs a foster home so that she doesn't have to live in a cage.
