Alger's Story...
Alger is a German shorthair mix boy who is in a foster home after having been in a cage in a shelter since May. He is a sweetheart of a dog and hopes he has a home for Christmas. He loves human interaction and is so happy when someone gives him attention. Alger is about one year old and is underweight at 42 pounds. He is a friendly, social dog, calm and loving dog who is great with kids and dogs and appears to be fine with indoor cats. Alger is house trained on a schedule, crate trained and walks well on a leash. He is a ready made family dog. Alger is with a 501c3 non profit rescue. His $200 adoption fee covers his neuter, heartworm test and pills, shots, worming, flea/tick prevention and HomeAgain microchip.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Alger, a Osseo German Shorthaired Pointer dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a German Shorthaired Pointer for sale in Osseo, or seeking a German Shorthaired Pointer dog from a breeder in Osseo.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Osseo already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Osseo breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even German Shorthaired Pointer breeders who help with German Shorthaired Pointer rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Osseo paves the way for another one to be saved.
