What is your name?
Hi, my name is Baloo.

How old are you?
I’m between 1-2 years old in human years.

What do you look like?
I am beautiful! The color of my fur is blue and white. I have a very healthy coat and teeth. I am in great shape!

What do you like to eat?
I LOVE food! Kibble is my favorite but I also love peanut butter and treats.

What kind of personality do you have?
Much like the bear I am named after, I am curious, loveable and snuggly. I want to explore the world but once I am done I love nothing more than to cuddle up next to you and take a nap. I can be pushy on occasion but only for things I really love, like a good spot on the couch!

Describe your perfect day:
My perfect day would start with a big play in the yard! I love a long walk and do well on leash. I love playing with other dogs and chewing on a good kong. It would end with a car ride and then a good sleep.

What is your favorite toy?
My favorite toy is my kong and my deer antler. I love anything I can chew on! I am still learning to play fetch but I am getting better at it.

Do you know any tricks?
I know how to sit. Especially for food. I come when I am called and I know exactly where to go when it is crate time. I am a big goofball when it comes to training but these only make the training sessions more fun!

What scares you?
Not many things. I am a big brave boy around people, other dogs, even motorcycles! I have been known to bark at fireworks but this is only to alert my family!

Do you like cats?
I have only been introduced to a two-week-old kitten. I was very curious but not aggressive. Mostly I just tried to eat the kitten’s food.

Do you have any doggie best friends?
I currently live with three other pitbulls! I get along very well with the younger one Juno and the older one Sunshine. I have a silly play style and take correction very well. I love to wrestle and play chase.

If you could be anywhere in the world, where would it be?
In the backyard with my people or going on a long drive. I love being in the car!

How is your health?
My health is great now! I had heartworm but after the treatment I am all better! My coat is shiny and my teeth are perfect.

Who do you live with in your foster home and who is your closest companion?
I live with three other pitbulls, two humans and occasionally a foster kitten. I have been on perfect behavior when we have visitors.

Where do you hang out when you are home alone?
I don’t like to be alone but when my parents are away I am perfectly happy in my crate if I can see my doggy friends. Especially if I have a kong!

Where do you sleep?
On the bed with my humans and all three of my foster sisters. It’s a bit crowded but that is how I like it.

What do you love about your foster family?
That they took me in so that I could have a chance. I am a very good dog but I was going to be put down because of my heartworm. Now that it is gone I am going to have a long and happy life!

What was life like before you were rescued by Even Chance and brought into the welcoming arms of your foster parents?
I am from the streets of Chicago and somehow ended up in St Louis! It looks like I was an outside dog for much of my life but now I am really enjoying being inside.

Even Chance does not operate on a first come, first serve basis. In most cases we have already decided the type of home and owner we want for our dogs. These opinions are based on the temperament tests we perform prior to accepting the dog into our program and the behaviors the dogs display as they grow up. Our agency reserves the right to deny acceptance of any dog to an owner who we feel the lifestyle does not match that of the dog. We are in no way judging you or your lifestyle; we simply want to put our dogs in the best living situation possible. We take very seriously the decision we make when it comes to placing one of our dogs in a forever home. If I sound like the perfect pit bull for your and your family and you are interested in giving me a forever home, do not hesitate! Please fill out an application here and my foster family will contact you to schedule an in-person meet and greet. We look forward to meeting any and all interested applicants.
