My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Archie is a 10 year old Sheltiewho was returned to TSCR because he nipped his adopters' grandson.

Originally he was surrendered to TSCR in April, 2015.  He was 40+ pounds and could barely walk. Sadly his previous owner had him crated 23 out of 24 hours/day.  While with TSCR Archie lost 5 lbs and started building up his stamina.

Archie is back and still quite overweight but is making progress. Archie has lost around 5 more pounds since coming back to TSCR and his current weight is 32 lbs.

Archie has been on thyroid Rx, which may not have helped his weight that much, but has definitely helped his coat.  It's a very shiny mahogany sable now.

Archie enjoys walking around the backyard and checking things out but refuses to walk more than 10 feet on a leash for his foster Mom. While he continues to refuse to walk on a leash he enjoys patrolling the back yard regularly and actually trots in from the far corner when called.

A fenced yard is required for Archie.

Due to previous issues with the 5 yr old, it's best if Archie goes to an older adopter with no small children and maybe even no small dogs as he can be dominant. He does enjoy attention from strangers that come to the home.

Archie is being fostered in KY.
