Mopsy (Poppy) is a young, 1 -1 ½ yr. old Miniature Poodle/Bichon Mix female. Poppy weighs 12 ½ lbs and has a soft, curly coat of non shedding hair. She was originally rescued by Hope for Paws in the Los Angeles area. She had an old fracture of her left rear leg. With separation between the broken bones, she had surgery to secure the broken bones. Poppy is now recovered and ready to meet a new forever family.
This loving, young girl likes both men and women. She enjoys the company of younger dogs and can play for hours with a fun loving, young dog. She enjoys playing and running in a yard. Poppy will defend herself if another dog exhibits aggressive behavior toward her. She is a smart dog and comes promptly when called and is house trained in her foster home. She responds appropriately to “go outside” “come in the house” and “go to bed.” She does need further training with leash walking and calm behavior in a car. Poppy would do best with an experienced dog person. She has a loud bark when she hears strange sounds or strangers talking outside so she would not do well living in a home with shared walls or a mobile home park. Poppy is devoted to her foster parents and loves to shower them with her affection.
