Ellie May was picked up as a stray in southern Virginia and has made amazing progress! Upon initially entering her foster home, Ellie peered up the townhouse steps, which must have seemed mountainous to the pup unaccustomed to such household amenities. Within a day, Ellie had mastered the stairs and was cruising up and down with no problem at all! Ellie has been a quick learner when it comes to commands and tricks, having already learned to sit and to lie down with minimal training. Ellie had an issue or two with potty training to begin, but after some initial accidents she seems to have really figured this out too! Ellie May enjoys playing with other dogs, but especially enjoys playing with her humans. Ellie is always down for a game of tug or fetch, and would love a family with children. Ellie is a wonderfully sweet, playful girl, with an affectionate streak as long as her legs! Come meet Ellie May and give this southern girl a happy home!
The Empty Shelter Project operates as a foster-based animal rescue. We do not have an actual facility for viewing dogs but potential adopters are welcome to meet dogs at our adoption events at PetValu every Sunday from 11-3 (except the first Sunday of the month). If you see a specific pet you would like to meet, please contact us in advance to make sure they will be at the event. PetValu is located at 10079 Market Circle Dr, Manassas VA 20110.
