My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Just arrived from New Mexico, Ruby is settling into Rhode Island life nicely. She is a super sweet girl who loves to be held and loves belly rubs. She is very comforted by human companionship and snuggles, yearns to be picked up as her safe spot, and as is true of the breed generally is very darling with a nervous edge. She is very good with children :) Ruby was living with a larger group of Pomeranians and is used to constant companionship, but thus far is doing fine on her own. Her housebreaking is imperfect and she can bark a bit in a demand for attention, but she knows she is a princess and these are traits to be expected from the breed. She is perfect company and endlessly charming :) A grand little character! Oh yes, and very, very beautiful ;) She is an older girl of 8-10 years old and will likely require a dental.

THE RIGHT HOME for Ruby has a range of possibilities as she is good with most everything....kids, dogs. She is a proper princess and loves attention, however, so will be best suited to someone who is home often. As she barks when she is lonely, she is not well suited for apartment life unless neighbors are known to be tolerant. She will do fine in homes with an established dog....she lives with dogs in foster now as large as a Standard Poodle....and is very comfortable with kids. Senior dogs come with extra expense, but this is a long lived breed and she is thereby more of an advanced middle age and appears quite healthy besides being due for a dental.

Early applications are suggested and available on our southpawsexpress.org website or by contacting Lucy at maramuser@gmail.com Her adoption fee is $450.
